The Intensive week-long course is designed for players seeking a concentrated and demanding programme of study. Participants take part in daily technique classes, two individual lessons, a masterclass slot, two coached rehearsals with pianists, and an orchestral excerpts class. Despite the busy schedule, the timetable is deliberately structured to leave space for personal practice.

In addition to the core programme, participants can choose from a range of optional sessions to shape their week according to their interests. Optional sessions include extra individual lessons, piano coaching, baroque lessons and a workshop, morning warm-up sessions, circular breathing, and individual performance psychology sessions. Staff recitals are a highlight of the week, and students share in the final concert on the last evening.

For advanced students and professional musicians, the Intensive course offers focused, in-depth work in a supportive environment.

 

The Advanced Performer Course is designed for musicians seeking to develop both their flute playing and performance skills in a focused, supportive environment. The course includes two individual lessons, two technique classes, two coached rehearsals with pianists, and chamber music with scheduled rehearsal and coaching.

A key feature of the course is the Studio Masterclass: an intimate performance class within the Advanced Performer cohort, working in small groups and offering detailed, constructive feedback. While the week is structured and busy, the timetable allows time to practice and develop ideas introduced in lessons and classes.

As with the Intensive course, participants can also choose from a range of optional sessions, including extra individual lessons, piano coaching, baroque lessons and workshop, morning warm-up sessions, circular breathing, and individual performance psychology sessions.

Join us from the 22nd July for our Short Course, designed to support amateur flautists in developing their playing, confidence, and musical understanding in a friendly and inclusive setting. The course includes individual lessons, coached rehearsals with pianists, technique classes, chamber music, flute choir rehearsals, and a supportive performance class.

Open to flautists of all standards, the Short Course offers a relaxed yet purposeful environment in which participants are encouraged to explore new ideas. Additional options are available, including extra lessons, coaching, group classes, and individual performance psychology sessions for those wishing to focus on confidence and performance skills.

The course concludes with a celebratory sharing concert on the 24th July.
